Dubli's "success" in North America

Question:
How can we measure the success of Dubli's "FUN shopping" auctions e-commerce model in North America?

Answer:
Here's an easy way to do it.

Go to the "Xpress" auctions page on the US Dubli site:

Find the completed "Xpress" auctions:
Look for the "Show all completed auctions" link at the bottom right:

Click it, change the completed Xpress auctions url so that it shows 500 items per page, and search for the last page:

at present we find 8 pages of 500 = no more than 4000 Xpress auctions have been completed.

Follow the same procedure for the completed "Unique Bid" auctions, and we get:
at present we find 2 pages of 500 = no more than 1000 Unique Bid auctions have been completed.

Now go and see the SEC filing Form 8-K for MediaNet Group Technologies Inc.,
dated October 23 2009 at:

Scroll down to page 4, just above the paragraph titled "DubLi Auctions" where it says:

"Since the U.S. debut of DubLi in 2008, thousands of Business Associates from around the world have joined the DubLi Network, and nearly 1.5 million consumers have participated in DubLi auctions."

With this official information we can make some calculations to gauge Dubli's success rate in North America*.

We already know the US debut of Dubli was Oct 4 - 2008. It's now Nov 7 - 2009.
That's roughly 13 months or about 13 x 30 = 390 days.

Completed auctions total (see above) = no more than 1000 + 4000 = at most 5000.

5000 completed auctions in 390 days = 5000/390 = 12.82 completed auctions per day (on average, measured over 390 days). Well... that's not very much...

(Note: here's a site from a Dubli Business Associate that tracks the completed auctions on the US Dubli portal per day: http://www.dublicenter.com/. We can indeed see an average of about 12 completed auctions each day there).

But what would it exactly mean if we take the officially provided number of "1.5 million participating customers" into account?

Per participating customer this means: 12.82 completed auctions per day divided among the 1.5 million customers = 12.82/1.5 million = a staggering 0.000008547 completed auctions per participating customer per day.

This, my dear readers, is how popular & succesful the "FUN shopping auctions" are on Dubli North America.

* I'm hopefully assuming here that the earlier quoted FORM-8K phrase "Since the U.S. debut of DubLi in 2008, thousands of Business Associates from around the world have joined the DubLi Network, and nearly 1.5 million consumers have participated in DubLi auctions." is referring only to the North American Dubli Auctions... if it would actually mean that "nearly 1.5 million customers have partcipated in ALL Dubli auctions" (thus including those on the EU Dubli site) ... then... well... that would be ... sort of ... a true disaster...
