Update: long-number names: no bots, but BA's
Update: my earlier assertions about the possibility of Dubli using 'bots as bidders' in my Dec. 2009 blog entries:
http://dubli-unofficial.blogspot.com/2009/12/dublis-weird-long-number-user-names.html
and
http://dubli-unofficial.blogspot.com/2009/12/is-dubli-using-bots-as-bidders.html
has been proven to be untrue.
I have found out that these long numbers are automatically assigned to newly signed-up Dubli Business Associates as their Dubli 'customer name'. BA's can then choose to either change their 'long-number customer name' into a name to their likings, or keep this number as their customer name.
So: any time you see such long numbers appear in the completed auctions results as the "successful winner" you'll know these are BA's.
Persons registering as 'ordinary' customers on Dubli won't be assigned a number as their customer name, but can/must in stead right away choose a user name to their likings.

Hmmm fair critique...
ReplyDeleteHallo Kees,
Angelo
Hi Keesje,
ReplyDeletePerhaps you could do a post on how you got in contact with DubLi?

Good luck!
